Shipping Puppies

Do You Ship?
Yes, toy schnauzer puppies legally have to be at least 8 weeks old and weigh at least 2 pounds before we can ship. Teacup schnauzer puppies usually need to be picked up. However, some teacup puppies we can ship between 10-14 weeks old depending on their size, how delicate they are and how long the flight would be.

.

How Much is Shipping?
Shipping anywhere in the United States is typically between $350 – $400. This covers the plane ticket, airline approved crate and vet appt for health certificate. Shipping fee’s are NOT included in the puppies price unless we are having a “free shipping” sale. If you decide to come pick the puppy up then you will need to buy your own airline ticket as well as an airline approve crate. When booking your ticket ask the rep if your specific flight requires a health certificate. If yes, then we will invoice you $65 to cover that cost.

Do You Send the Puppies Medical Records?
Yes, Absolutely! Your puppies medical records will be taped on top of the crate. It will be the original records so please don’t lose them as we can NOT replace it. Make sure you give them directly to your vets office so they will know exactly what medical work we have done.

What Should I Take to the Airport?

#1 – Their snuggle puppy. Make sure to put the heat pack inside the snuggle puppy and turn the heart beat on before picking the puppy up. This will really help calm the puppy after being in the flight alone. (because it helps them feel like a “sibling” is with them) so also let them sleep with this at night, it will really help with their transition and adjusting.

#2 – Many past puppy buyers have told us their puppies have LOVED the “Snailed It!” treatsters they offer them as soon as they pick the puppy up from the airport. They are very durable, made with soft rubber. Just fill them with any kind of treat, kibble, pumpkin, peanut butter etc… Sometimes puppies won’t take treats from a “stranger” when they are nervous so this is a great way to “break the ice” with your new puppy and help prevent them from going into hypoglycemia. These also work awesome for helping your puppy to learn to love their crate!

.

#3 – Your puppy will probably need to potty but do NOT put the puppy on public grass at the airport or at anytime during the drive home. It can easily pick up parvo and other deadly diseases which we do NOT guarantee against since we do not have control of you being cautious or not.The puppy is so young and hasn’t been fully vaccinated. Puppies must have ALL 3 sets of puppy vaccines before they are protected against serious life-threatening puppy diseases. Parvo is the #1 puppy killer and by the time you realize your puppy has it, sadly – it’s usually to late. (parvo kills within 24-48 hours after exposure) One of the main ways they get Parvo is by their owners putting them on public grasses before they’ve had all 3 puppy vaccines so you have now been warned.

Here are the pee pads we use. All our puppies are trained to these. I will say, over the last 15 years of breeding these pee pads are the most durable we’ve come across. They hold the most urine without all the dripping, leaking, clumping and smelling. A lot higher quality than what you find at just a petstores. These are made with the stuff used in human baby diapers and have 5 layers and a leak proof back!!!  These also have an amazing “attractant” that really draws the puppies to want to “potty” on them!!

Is it Safe to Ship?
Yes, of course. With all the new laws that have been enforced for airlines to join the “Pet Safety  Program” and the clap down on security at the airports most airlines are under strict rules and guidelines. Millions of people ship their loved pets each year with no problems. With today’s technology the world has become a small place and flying on a plane has become a natural way to travel. It’s really no much different than putting them in a crate in your car and traveling.

Are Pets Shipped with the Baggage down below?
No, not at all. Keep in mind, airplanes are huge and have multiple levels and rooms. Pets are placed underneath in a nice room that is well lit, air pressurized, air controlled and kept very comfortable for the pets during travel. (just like it is where the humans sit when they fly). Also, Airlines only ship a few pets at a time in this quiet room and each crate is securely fastened in.

Can I Come Pick My Pup Up?
Yes, of course. Families do that all the time.  Just fly into Salt Lake City, International Airport in Utah and we can meet you at the baggage claim area. Then you can just can hop on the next flight home the same day. Before you book your flight just coordinate with us what day you’d like to come so we can make sure we are available to meet you. When buying your flight ask the airlines if your puppy needs to travel with a health certificate. If you do need a health certificate then you will need to send us $65 to cover that. You will also need to purchase an airline approved crate or bag for the puppy to fly back in.

Do You Know of Any “Pet Friendly” Hotels in Your Area?
Pet friendly hotels are extremely dangerous to take a puppy that is so young and is not fully vaccinated.  No matter how clean the environment appears, places like vets offices and pet hotels are loaded with germs in the grasses and carpets that your puppy can pick up very easily making them terribly ill of even result in death. Again, it’s very important puppies have had all 3 puppy vaccines before you start taking the to places like this. If you want to stay at a hotel that is fine. We can meet you the next day and give you the puppy before you board your flight but we do NOT allow our puppies to stay at pet hotels without having had all 3 puppy shots. ( first shot at 8 weeks old, second shot and 12 weeks old and last shot at 16 weeks old)
