Hello Merle Schnauzer lovers! This page is to visually show you how breeders are creating these “merle schnauzers” and hopefully help you understand the different generations out there. To start you own merle schnauzer bloodline you begin by crossing a quality purebred schnauzer to a quality merle breed. Make sure that both the parents are top of the line with superior bloodlines so that your combining 2 of the finest pedigree’s. This first breeding is called your “foundation stock” and it’s critical because the parents you choose will determine the health and quality of your puppies long-term. Alot of schnauzer breeders are using merle aussies, merle poodles, merle poms. We favor and personally love the pom lines so we have created our (Spoiled Rotten Schnauzers) merle bloodline using a double blue eye’d pom with a long pedigree of outstanding health with health testing, short compact square bodies, tons of tiny sizes and massive ultrasoft megacoated hair. Example of 1st Generation – 1/2 = 50/50
Purebred Schnauzer (Sakkarra) to a Double Blue Eye’d Merle Pom (Quicksilver)
their blue merle male puppy (Colbalt) is 1/2 schnauzer and 1/2 schnauzer ( 50/50)
Example of 2nd Generation
3/4 = 75/25
(example: one of the parents is 1/2. the other parent is full schnauzer)
Take (Colbalt) the 1st generation merle puppy that is 1/2 and 1/2 (when he’s old enough) and bred him to a purebred schnauzer. (Mozika)
their chocolate merle male puppy (Guygi) is 3/4 schnauzer. ( 75/25)
Example of 3rd Generation
7/8 = 84/16
(example: one of the parents is 3/4. the other parent is full schnauzer)
Take (Guygi) the 2nd generation merle puppy and bred him (once he’s old enough) to a purebred schnauzer. (Iya)
