Waiting List

~ What is a Waiting List & How Does it Work?
Answer: Waiting lists are breeders way of trying to secure a future buyer and there is nothing wrong with that. Breeders that do waiting lists will often have you send in a non-refundable deposit (usually between $200-$300. some go upto $500) and that will hold your spot in line. Then once the litter is born the breeder usually goes in the order of the deposit list and see's which families want which puppies. The deposit should be applied to the price of the puppy and the breeder will mark the puppy as sold to you. Again, there is nothing wrong with this method. But don't get too excited because there is a VERY UNFAIR side to deposits for waiting lists and that is - alot of breeders make them NON-REFUNDABLE. In our opinion it is a complete rip off and a total scam to the buyer. Seriously, since when is it legal to go into a store and pay the clerk for a "product" and then get NOTHING for that money in return - because that is what you are doing when you place a non-refundable deposit on a future litter. You have NOT bought anything except your now a number on a list. But so what, the breeder is NOT out anything to just take you off that list and move everyone up a space if for some reason you are no longer in a position to buy a puppy. Yes, it's true the breeder may feel justified that they "earned" your money with all the time they spend with you via email & phone but get real. That is like saying if you go shoe shopping and spend hours taking up the shoe clerks time trying on different shoes and then decide you don't want to buy any of them for whatever reason, you DON'T owe the shoe clerk several hundred dollars for that time. It's just life. Yes, their time is important but so is everyones time and Yes, it can be frustrating when that happens but that doesn't justify keeping your money for no product. We all win-some and lose-some. We support buying from breeders that are fair, honest, ethical, and watch out for their potential buyers. We have been in this business a long time and feel that responsible ethical breeders WILL do a "refundable deposit" list for their upcoming litters. This means if you send them a deposit on a "upcoming litter" and then once the puppies are born if there isn't anything you want, the breeder gives you a choice of refunding you OR letting you put the deposit towards a different litter. YOUR CHOICE since it's YOUR money.
~ How Do I Join Your Waiting List?
Answer: We do Not have a waiting list, nor do we currently want one. We are very confident about our puppies and their quality that we do not take any deposits to secure buyers. We feel if a family wants to adopt from us - they will. If they don't - they won't. We are not threatened by families shopping around and we don't waste our time worrying about how to lock them into a future sale so they won't go somewhere else. We have no doubt that each of our puppies will find a loving home to treat them as part of their family. We are pretty casual around here and want our families experience to be stress free, no pressure, smooth, exciting, and a positive adoption process. Our focus is happy endings & match-making. Here at Spoiled Rotten Schnauzers we believe in taking the time to make sure our families are making informed (NOT rushed) decisions. Because our puppies live inside our home and are down on the ground treated as part of the family we encourage you to give us a call so we can tell you all about their individual characteristics and personalities. All puppies are "cute, fun and loving" but we can give you so much more then just that cliche answer. Not all puppies are the same and some will blend better in YOUR home environment then others. Buying a puppy should be more then just what it looks like in the picture. For example: if you have an "alpha" dog already - we strongly encourage you to pick out a puppy that is "submissive" in nature. If you have small children or a high energy dog already. We encourage you to pick out the more fun, playful, interactive puppy over the more quiet, shy, lap-type puppy. We do NOT pick out your puppy for you. It's important to us that YOU feel a "connection" with the puppy you adopt from us. All we do is tell you about each puppy so you can decide which one sounds like it will best be suited for your home. So go ahead and shop around, compare our puppies with others. If you come back and buy from us - wonderful and welcome to our "family!" If you connect with a different breeder or one of their puppies - that's fanastic. Enjoy your new baby from them! We want families who buy from us to feel 100% confident that we are the right breeders for them and the puppy they choose from us is indeed their "dream baby!"
