Congratulations on adopting a new puppy into your heart & home!! What a fun and exciting adventure your about to begin! Below are some training tips to help get your puppy (and you) started on the right track. Puppies are like children, they require routine, schedules and need to know boundries and what is expected of them. Training a puppy take time, consistency and patience.  It’s important to do positive reinforcement training with puppies so they learn that obeying is fun, rewarding and something they look forward to. There are several ways to potty train a puppy. You can either crate train them to go “potty outside” by scratching at the door or ringing a bell to be let out. Or you can teach them to use a “potty box” inside.  If you don’t  have an actual yard, you can teach the puppy to “go potty” inside the potty box on the deck, pati, or just take them for a walk.
